This does not come equipped with a new Speedometer Gear. *Special Note: If you are planning a direct transmission swap it is recommended to re-use your existing extension-housing and speedometer gear for your new unit. Converting from a Turbo 350 or Turbo 400 3-speed to the 700R4 Monster transmission may also increase the value of your vehicle.

The 700R4 is a popular transmission swap for muscle car restorations to add the overdrive option & to update to a modern transmission. The 30% overdrive will give a 30 to 40% increase in gas mileage on the road when compared to a 3-speed transmission. The 700R4 has a 3.06 ratio in first gear, which is 20% lower than most transmissions. If you don't already have one, we recommend getting a 700r4 transmission cooler when you purchase a 700r4 transmission. When you use the manual gear selection feature, the Mega Monster upshifts and downshifts when you move the shift lever, (please note, in order to have complete control of the RPM shift timing you must upgrade to a full manual valvebody). In either mode, you get a racetrack shift that bangs through the gears giving you all the right to say "Eat My Shift!". The Mega Monster 4x4 is recommended for any type of heavy towing use around 5,500lbs GVW! Equipped with a Manual/Automatic valve body, most units allow you to manually shift the vehicle into each gear change or, by placing it in the drive position, remain fully automatic.
It is ideal for vehicles powered by engines producing up to 500 horsepower(450tq) with a naturally aspirated system using pump gasoline. (Vehicles with big block engines are suggested to run our Super Duty model.)Įngineered to Dominate, the 700R4 4x4 Mega Monster transmission is tough enough to withstand the rigors of even the toughest trucks and off-road vehicles.
